The Fulfillment of Ancient Dreams

We realize each other’s dreams in a grand tale of eternal brotherhood. This is what the Maasai told me during our meeting a year ago.
Our lives, in all their wonder and nuance, even in the most difficult moments, give us the blossoming of seeds that a thousand generations of hearts have planted in the earth. How important it is to recognize this.
Because when we feel free from the past, we fulfill the desire of someone who so wanted to forgive themselves and never managed to.
When challenges at work put us to the test, we are still fulfilling the wish of someone who never found a job.
When we love and are loved, we fulfill the wish of someone who felt alone and misunderstood all their life.
When the relationship with our children goes through a complicated phase, we are living the dream of someone who could never have children.
When our land, our home, our body go through a difficult time, we fulfill the wish of someone who never had the chance to know a land, a home, even a body to call their own and care for.
Our lives are the children of ancient, lost but not forgotten prayers, of seeds carried by the wind.
Asante sana, my friends, may all alliances flourish in this time, even in the midst of the desert.
A hug of gratitude.
